When I cancel my webtv2 account will I still be able to use my webtv.net email address on hotmail. Thanks Jerry

YES...the account will be closed...transfer everything BEFORE closing account...dont forget all accounts that use the addy...where you are registered...like web-nuts for instance....LOL(you might be able to send,when you enter with your computer,but i thik all photos,files stored in "Live" will be gone....transfer em out ASAP!!)
We are doing the same thing....we got some hotmail accounts....if you are lucky,you can get the same @hotmail.com..(ie jimmyweb@webtv.net then open Jimmyweb@hotmail.com , even tho it is a "shadow"site...mail from webtv.net will NOT be in @hotmail.com ,if you plan on bailing...do that ASAP...my wife had some difficulty with PayPal and Ebay but finally fixed it by adding a 1 to her addy?-on their side.
we just got the new mac-mini and apple assures us we can use our 31" RCA analog as a monitor,our keyboard and mouse too!!! and it will be a good view...awaiting a S-video connector to find out...i will be able to post here from the macbook...LOL

ALL of your Msntv2 mail is on SkyDrive ( Windows Live Mail ) and I don't know why Jimbo thinks otherwise?!
Jimbo , please read this http://web-nuts.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=17195&start=0 regarding Webtv mail after disconnecting Msntv2 that other Apple ppl discovered. Even the photo albums are available especially if you "shared" photos!

i think that,because it is my past experience...open an account with your webtv,net or msntv2,...either @msn.com,
now do a bunch of stuff with it...e-mails,photos,ect ect...then cancel the account...YES...you can still get in with a _computer_,but not _forever_....at least that was my experience...
whats important today is...while fooling around in hotmail...i .zip filed all of my photos to my macbook desktop,then dragged to iPhoto,and all of my photos are safe!!!....and anyone can create MS word,excel,powerpoint and other formats there now ....free....really really cool......so i wont disagree with you...life is too short...better to be safe than sorry....and i am deleting jimmymacbook@hotmail.com from msntv2 service today...will get back to you...hope i dont lose the 500 photos i have stored there...LOL

Windows Live accounts are Windows Live regardless whether or not you are on Msntv2, computer or Apple..
You don't lose a damn thing when you have Windows Live Id. Webtv is also part of, and has access to Windows Live Programs, including mail service. What happens when you stop subscribing to Msntv2(Microsoft Network TV2) seems to have been addressed
My primary and Windows Live Account sign on is hotmail.com and of course appropriate password, which gives me access to the other Windows Live Programs. Secondaries are a couple of msn.com addies and the pita webtv.net. The same users I have on Msntv2.
I also have a few other addies such as gmail and my isp user addresses. Obviously they are not Windows Live. There are various other Windows Live Programs downloaded on laptop, some which are mirrored and accessable on the box and which have been discussed previously on many topics and threads. 
Btw, hotmail.com mail service accounts are not Msntv2 anymore than msn.com is.
